St Cormac’s Society is a registered charity established in 2019 by historian Liam Alex Heffron of the National University of Ireland, Galway to ‘do something’ about the loss of local heritage and historical records and the neglect of important cultural communities, institutions and landscapes by official Ireland. We are an inclusive, forward thinking and dynamic young organisation seeking volunteers to participate on our projects or getting involved with our small (yet driven!) management team.

Our Mission

Our Mission is the promotion of culture, heritage and history in counties Mayo and Sligo, by providing support for academic and genealogical research, preservation and cataloging of historical records and exhibitions, workshops, and other heritage events for the public benefit, particularly in the North West of Ireland.

Chairperson - Liam Alex Heffron, Secretary - Peter Gilroy, Treasurer - Stephanie Jennings.
